Graduation attire to be available for students

Seniors who have ordered a graduation cap and gown are able to pick those up at the high school on May 13 at various times throughout the day depending on their place in the alphabet. Graduation apparel can be picked up in the high school bus parking lot.

Times for pick up are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for those who have the last name A through E, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for those who have the last name F through K, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for those who have the last name L through R and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for those who have the last name from S through Z. Students who have not yet purchased their cap and gown may still do so through Herff Jones.

While an in-person graduation ceremony is set to occur on July 21 if permitted, a virtual ceremony for seniors is guaranteed per principal Russ Marcinek’s May 4 update. A ceremony on campus in the month of June is prohibited per Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Jennifer McCormick, as no one is allowed on campus unless necessary and only if social distancing measures are upheld. Marcinek noted that the corporation will provide the online ceremony for students as graduating in person may not be feasible amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, but hopes that it will occur in person in July.
